This native of Amsterdam studied journalism. Traveled around the world as a reporter for Quote magazine, but would much rather be in the snow with his girlfriend Frederique. Regularly walks through the hotel to offer guests a “Young” gin. Abel has been skiing from a young age, knows the ski area like the back of his hand and, as a host at the hotel, helps with the service and does office work.

Anne is chef at the Hotel Saint Roch. Her motto: a feast on your plate. Honest, nutritious and colorful. Her dishes are as colorful as her cycling outfits. Cycled 8,000 kilometers by herself from Oslo to Sicily and immersed herself in different food cultures. Gained her hospitality experience at Amsterdam establishments such as the Rijks and Madam and the Hyatt in South Africa. Had her own deli in Amsterdam “Annies Jungle.”

Formerly studied at the Hotel School and worked for an advertising agency in Amsterdam as an account manager. She fancied a foreign adventure and moved to Puy with her boyfriend Abel. Since then, Frederique has enjoyed managing the ministry team. She knows the ski area like the back of her hand. Although the sun shines here every day, Frederique is our sunshine in the house.

You won’t find anyone with more sense of hospitality than Martijn. Gained his experience at hotel Van der Valk de Biltsche Hoek, where he worked for no less than 25 years. Is fond of the many French delicacies and sleigh rides. Changed employers only once: since then we have been proud to have this professional as our waiter.

Margaux walks around here the longest. When she was just born, her parents bought a cottage in the valley. She travels around the world hitchhiking, on foot or in her camper, but always returns to her beloved Puy. Snowboarding, cross-country skiing, hiking and climbing are her passions, as is preparing the most delicious cocktails for our guests.

Patrick is the man who can do everything: he is our janitor and makes and repairs. Used to own a restaurant and participate in numerous sports such as fencing and weightlifting. Sails his sailboat on the coast in the summer and skis from his home to work at the hotel in the winter.

Simon is our cycling enthusiast and has guided cycling trips in faraway countries such as Malawi, Nepal and Guatemala. Here he knows every climb, gravel road and singletrack in the area. Simon is our all-rounder and can be seen everywhere. Of course he helps you as a cyclist get started.

As a scion of the Van der Valk family, hotel business is in his blood. Got to know his wife Yvonne at the Van der Valk hotel in Eindhoven. Went cycling with her on a trip around the world, looking for a place for their own hotel. Settled in Puy Saint Vincent a year later and bought their hotel. Valentine is an outdoor enthusiast. Completed the 2021 Embrunman, the toughest triathlon in the world. Valentine does everything he can to make his guests feel at home in the mountains.

Yvonne loves the quiet and space. When she is not busy with bookings, she is taking care of breakfast, playing with her children or sitting on her yoga mat. Worked as a journalist for a dive magazine before embarking on her world bike trip with Valentine. Now prefers to dive into nature with her family.
