Tour de France Week

Hotel Saint Roch, 14-20 July 2024

Experience the Tour de France at Hotel Saint Roch

This summer, experience the Tour de France up close at Saint Roch. During Tour Week, you will cycle on the roads of the Tour and see the pros fly past you up close. Will Vingegaard of 'our' Visma-Lease a Bike recapture the yellow jersey? Who knows, maybe the all-decisive attack will take place right in front of you!

Cycle the roads of the Tour de France
You will follow routes during Tour de France Week to the most beautiful places where cycling history is written. By bike, you will visit this year's stages and climb legendary Tour mountain passes such as the Galibier, Izoard and Granon. We will help you on your way with the routes, of course you do the cycling yourself.

Lunch overlooking the peloton
The absolute highlight is a sumptuous lunch overlooking the Tour. You cycle yourself via a shortcut to the designated lunch point . On arrival, you will hear the sound of helicopters approaching and the Tour caravan. As the peloton races by, geniet you from our extensive Tour picnic lunch.

Tour de France Week - Programme

Welcome to the Hotel Saint Roch. You can check in with us from 4pm. If you arrive earlier, you can drop off your luggage and kick off your legs in the area. Information on accessibility can be found here.

On your first day of cycling, choose the Col du Galibier. The pros climb this mythical alpine summit on 4 July during this Tour de France. Today you can conquer the Galbier with an altitude of 2,642 m yourself. Our home route Les Trois Valleé is also a great tip for exploring our area.

Col du Galibier | 112 km & 2,140 m
Les Trois Valleé | 70 km & 2,000 m

Our route suggestion for day two is the Boucle d'Izoard, or Round Izoard. Part of this round trip is the Col d'Izoard, a frequently seen climb in the Tour. Famous is La Casse Déserte, the lunar landscape you pass along the way on your ascent.

Boucle d'Izoard | 104 km & 2,540 m

Two days before the pros climb the Col de Vars, make this round trip. You will see that the keen cyclists have already secured a spot on the Col de Vars. Barcelonnette is also under the spell of the Tour, which arrives here the next day.

Col de Vars & Barcelonnette | 124 km & 2.420 m

The Tour de France leaves Gap for Barcelonnette today, passing through Lac de Serre Ponçon on the way. This azure reservoir forms the backdrop to our route suggestion for today. In the hills surrounding the lake, you can catch the first glimpse of the peloton via a shortcut.

Round Lac de Serre Ponçon | +/- 80 km - 2,000 m

Today the Tour starts in Embrun and a little later the Col de Vars will be climbed. At a tactical spot along the route, we set up a lunch spot that you can reach by bike. While we spoil you with a sumptuous picnic lunch* you might witness the all-decisive breakaway for the yellow jersey.

Tip: If you want to see the warm-up of the riders on the rollers, get up early and travel to Embrun.

Route follows o.b.v. Tour route | +/- 80 km - 2,000 m

*The organised lunch will be held from 10 people onwards. Depending on the TDF route, lunch may also be held on 18 July,

The Tour de France week at Hotel Saint Roch is over, unless you decide to stay a while longer. You can take another ride and shower in our spa. You can also book an extra night, of course.

You win the Tour in a Saint-Roch bed

At Hotel Saint Roch, cyclists will feel right at home. After a day on the bike, get a fresh plate of pasta and watch the end of the Tour stage on the big screen. If you want to freshen up, take a dip in the pool or visit the spa for a sauna or massage. In the evening we serve a tasty three-course dinner and in the morning you will get off to a good start with our extensive breakfast buffet.

Our hotel is bike proof; with storage, cleaning and workshop facilities and a lovely bar, where you can go for the greatest cycling stories.
